GE Turbo Control IS215VPROH1B Overspeed Protection VPRO Module

IS215VPROH1B is a dedicated independent triple redundant overspeed protection core card (VPRO protection component) for the GE Speedtronic Mark VI classic turbo control system. The entire unit protection unit adopts a three block VPRO board (R8/S8/T8) triple redundant architecture, which operates independently of the main control and regulation system. It is matched with TPRO speed measurement terminal board and TREG trip relay terminal board for use. IS215VPROH1B is specifically responsible for independent safety protection logic of gas turbines and steam turbines, and is the core safety hardware for emergency shutdown ESD of the unit. It is widely used in thermal power combined cycle, gas power plants, and refining turbine units.

IS215VPROH1B Core function
  1. Independent Emergency Speed (EOS) Protection
    Collecting signals from 6 passive magnetic reluctance speed sensors, independently calculating the unit speed, and directly outputting a trip command after triggering the overspeed threshold, without being affected by faults in the main control system, is the highest level of safety protection for turbine units.
  2. Unit emergency shutdown interlock control
    Drive TREG terminal board with 12 protection relays, independently control three 125VDC trip solenoid valves in 3 groups, and any redundant VPRO board can trigger the unit trip separately, with multiple protections to prevent refusal to operate.
  3. Triple redundant voting fault-tolerant operation
    Three VPROs independently collect and calculate data, with two out of three voting to output protection actions. The entire protection function is not interrupted in the event of a single board failure or power outage, and supports online single card replacement and maintenance.
  4. Cross module IONet data interaction
    Equipped with Ethernet interface, it communicates with Mark VI main control and upper monitoring system through IONet bus, uploads speed, temperature, protection action, fault diagnosis, SOE event records, and receives online testing and forced verification instructions.
