MTL 5516C is a 2-channel switch/proximity detector interface unit developed by Eaton (formerly Crouse Hinds), specifically designed for switches or NAMUR proximity sensors in hazardous areas (Ex ia Da IIIC). MTL 5516C is equipped with line fault detection (open/short circuit alarm) and achieves intrinsic safety isolation through internal transformers, relays, Zener diodes, and current limiting resistors, meeting functional safety requirements such as IEC 61508, IEC Ex/ATEX
Key Features：
Intrinsic safety isolation: MTL 5516C achieves electrical isolation between hazardous and non hazardous areas through transformers and relays to prevent energy transfer.
Line fault detection: capable of detecting open or short circuits in wiring, and alerting through the top indicator light to enhance on-site safety.
Dual channel independent control: Each channel can be independently connected to a switch or NAMUR proximity sensor, adapting to various on-site needs.
