UNITROL 5000 is a large-scale synchronous generator digital static excitation system launched by ABB, which includes AVR automatic voltage regulator, thyristor power rectifier unit, human-machine interface, and protection monitoring module. UNITROL 5000 is used for large and medium-sized synchronous generators. By adjusting the rotor excitation current, it controls the stability of the generator terminal voltage and regulates the reactive power output of the unit; The UNITROL 5000 is equipped with a power system stabilizer PSS, which suppresses low-frequency oscillations in the power grid and improves grid stability. The system integrates a complete set of restriction, protection, and event recording functions, which can achieve automatic/manual excitation control switching. It is a core control equipment for thermal power, hydropower, and nuclear power generation units, ensuring the safe grid connection and long-term stable operation of generators.
