1791-16AC is an Allen Bradley (Rockwell) 1791 series Block I/O remote distributed digital I/O module that is compatible with the RIO remote I/O link of PLC-5 controllers. 1791-16AC integrates 16 channels of 120VAC digital input and 16 channels of 120VAC digital output, with built-in RIO adapter and onboard power supply; The 1791-16AC is installed near the on-site sensors and actuators, collecting AC switch signals and uploading them to the PLC. At the same time, it receives instructions from the controller and outputs AC drive signals to control AC loads such as contactors, indicator lights, solenoid valves, etc., reducing long-distance wiring from the control cabinet to the site. It is a commonly used remote I/O acquisition drive unit in the old AB PLC5 system.
