ProSoft PLX31-EIP-MBS4 Modbus Serial Four Port Protocol Gateway Module

PLX31-EIP-MBS4 is an independent rail type EtherNet/IP to Modbus serial four port protocol gateway launched by ProSoft Technology in the United States. The device serves as a protocol conversion bridge, enabling bidirectional data exchange between Rockwell EtherNet/IP control systems and devices equipped with Modbus RTU/ASCII serial ports. PLX31-EIP-MBS4 is equipped with four independent isolated serial ports, which can simultaneously connect multiple Modbus field instruments, frequency converters, and power monitoring devices. It is widely used in automation transformation projects in petrochemical, water treatment, power plants, and manufacturing industries, solving the communication problem of incompatible old and new control system protocols.

Cross protocol bidirectional data conversion: Complete the mutual parsing and data mapping between EtherNet/IP (CIP protocol) and Modbus serial protocol, and achieve interoperability between two different types of bus devices
Multi channel serial port centralized access: 4 independent serial ports, capable of simultaneously mounting multiple sets of Modbus slave devices, reducing the number of on-site gateway deployments;
Docking with Rockwell PLC system: As an EtherNet/IP slave station, it connects to ControlLogix, CompactLogix and other controllers, supporting I/O real-time connection and MSG message communication;
Data scheduling and bandwidth optimization: Support distinguishing control data and status data to set different refresh cycles, and allocate network resources reasonably;
Communication fault diagnosis: Continuously monitor the status of Ethernet links and four-way serial communication, and upload fault information to the control system;
Configuration backup and fast recovery: Supports SD card storage of engineering configuration files, allowing for quick import of parameters during device replacement and reducing downtime for debugging.
