8404-205 belongs to the Woodward ProAct Gen1 PISC integrated analog electric actuator. The 8404-205 is an integrated drive circuit board, limit torque motor, and mechanical output mechanism. It is a speed control actuator for generator sets, gas internal combustion engines, and small industrial turbine units, and can be directly used with Woodward speed controllers such as 2301D and 723PLUS. It is widely used in power generation, marine power, and industrial internal combustion engine fuel supply/intake throttling control scenarios.

8404-205 core function

Accurate driving of fuel/intake valves
Receive 4-20mA analog control signals from the speed controller, output rotational torque to drive the fuel rack, gas throttle valve, and intake baffle, adjust the engine intake and fuel supply by changing the medium flow cross-sectional area, and stabilize the unit speed and output power.
Closed loop position feedback adjustment
Built in high-precision potentiometer position feedback component, real-time acquisition of actual output shaft angle and feedback to the controller, forming a fully closed-loop positioning control, eliminating position deviation caused by load fluctuations, and ensuring speed regulation accuracy.
Extreme mechanical limit protection
Equipped with a bidirectional mechanical stop structure, it limits the maximum rotation stroke of the output shaft, avoiding valve overtravel jamming and mechanical component overload damage. At the same time, it is equipped with dual protection of electrical soft limit.
Fault monitoring and signal feedback
Real time monitoring of power supply abnormalities, drive overload, and position feedback disconnection faults. Abnormal signals can be uploaded to the control system and coordinated with external alarm circuits to achieve fault shutdown and alarm prompts.
