MVI56-DFCM is a DF1 protocol serial communication module developed by ProSoft specifically for the Rockwell ControlLogix (1756) platform, which can be directly inserted into the ControlLogix rack slot.
MVI56-DFCM serves as a protocol gateway to facilitate data exchange between ControlLogix controllers and DF1 protocol devices; Two serial channels can be independently configured as master or slave stations, supporting DF1 full duplex and half duplex modes, and can be connected to old AB PLC-5, SLC500, third-party SCADA, power monitoring equipment, and other DF1 serial devices; MVI56-DFCM comes with a large capacity internal register database and exchanges data asynchronously with the ControlLogix backplane, without occupying the PLC main scanning cycle. It completes data forwarding, protocol conversion, polling scheduling, and is a dedicated communication spare for old DF1 serial port devices connected to the ControlLogix system.

1. Dual independent serial port channels, each channel can be separately set as a master or slave station, with no interference between channels and flexible networking.
2. Simultaneously supports DF1 half duplex and full duplex, compatible with traditional DF1 devices such as AB PLC-5, SLC500, ProvoX, etc.
3. Support RS232/RS422/RS485 hardware interface switching, adapt to point-to-point, multi branch bus, wireless data transmission radio, and modem remote link.
4. Asynchronous data exchange between the backplane and serial port network, and serial port polling will not slow down the scanning cycle of the ControlLogix controller.
5. Large capacity internal register mapping area, supporting up to 5000 registers, to meet the needs of large-scale process data exchange.
6. Supports CRC and BCC double checking, hardware flow control adaptation for radio stations and long-distance serial links, reducing transmission errors.
7. Equipped with ProSoft Configuration Builder software, visualize configuration polling tables, node addresses, and data mapping.
8. Multiple sets of status LED indicator lights, displaying module status, backplane communication, and serial port transmission and reception faults respectively, facilitating on-site diagnosis.
9. The single slot standard 1756 module can be installed in both local and remote racks, and is seamlessly compatible with the ControlLogix system.
10. It can replace the old 1785-KE module and is used for upgrading and retrofitting old systems. It is a classic spare part for DF1 link retrofitting.
